Mediocrity is where we remain stuck when we are afraid to step out of our 'box' and try something we haven't tried before. Or we look for excuses that make it okay to stay there. Our excuses make us feel better about remaining in our mediocrity. Fear
of failure stops us from stepping out and making it known that we have goals. What if I do not reach them? What if I fail in front of everyone?
I found these notes today that I wrote in 1993! I had spoke to a group of sales associate's
at one of our regional banquets. 20 years later I found myself with "Fear of Failure" Knowing myself that anyone who ever succeeds must first give themselves the opportunity to fail. So here I set, holding my own notes and realizing I was so full of "Fear
of Failure" that it was holding me back from my biggest dreams. Just knowing these things I had written in my notes, spoke of to others hundreds of times in groups of 2 and 3 and groups of over 3,000 ....is not enough. I knew them well... taught them to others....
but I was also comfortable in what I was doing, already experiencing success. When the time came to make changes I found myself responding to the same fears I had cautioned others about.
No one wants to fail....
everyone wants to have success..... but you do not start in success.... you start in your current state....which is usually not too far from your last failure. If you have no failures, you have never stepped out and are living a life of mediocrity. Mediocrity
brings with it depression, frustrations, fear, and confusion...... only you can determine when you have had enough of mediocrity.
