Beauty from the ashes

Beauty in the ASHES!!

When you know God is moving in your life is when He takes you into places and situations you would have never expected to find yourself in and shows you His power in those strange places.... in unlikely places according to your own ideas. When he takes people you thought you really didn't 'click with' and makes them family, makes them true family, when he shows you your failures and mistakes are what he works with best.

Today I looked at a few faces and situations.... and was reminded of what some seen as mistakes, failures and looking back on them there has been some heart aches connected with these as well.... and today, I see what God has done, how He gives Beauty for the Ashes.

Isaiah 61:3 says, "to console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified."

Isn’t it amazing how God says He can give you beauty for ashes? We tend to concentrate on the beauty, but unless you give Him your ashes, you don't get the beauty. There is a plan where you give Him your ashes. Then He, in return, gives you His beauty. We hold onto our ashes and wonder, Why doesn't my life change? Where is His beauty? Well, where are your ashes? You held on to them and He couldn't give you His beauty.

What are ashes? Ashes, I believe, are the wounded parts of our lives. Everybody has wounds, everybody has ashes....and all kinds of them. Sometimes they happen with a family member. There can just be every kind of a thing....a mate, your children, your job, your church, or actions. Ashes happen every place. We all have wounds.

I think the ones that are the hardest to let go of are those we create ourselves.... when we have made choices that leave us with heart aches and wounds. I have those kind of wounds also, and today, I looked and seen the Beauty in the ashes. The victories that rose from defeats. The glory in the breaking and the over comer in me!

Praying to today that you too find the beauty that you do deserve……
